The "Game of Thrones" new cast means new characters to hate and love! HBO made its announcement at San Diego Comic-Con 2014. And with the exit of some of the major characters on last season's finale, here are the new characters and the actors playing them:

  • Doran Martell played by Alexander Siddig: Lord of Dorne and older brother to Prince Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal).
  • Trystane Martell played by Toby Sebastian: Prince Doran's son and heir to the Dorne. Betrothed to Mycrella Baratehon.
  • Mycrella played by Nell Tiger Free: Eldest child of Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) and Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).
  • Nymeria "Nym" Sand played by Jessica Henwick: Second eldest of Prince Oberyn's daughters.
  • Tyene Sand played by Rosabell Laurenti Sellers: Another daughter of Prince Oberyn by Ellaria Sand, his last mistress. Known for having twin daggers.
  • Obara Sand played by Keisha Castle-Hughes: Daughter of Prince Oberyn.
  • Areo Hotah played by DeObia Oparei: Captain of Doran Martell's palace guard.
  • Yezzan played by Enzo Cilenti: Once an extremely wealthy slave trader before Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) outlawed the trade.
  • High Sparrow played by Jonathan Pryce: Devout man who went to King's Landing to serve the poor and quickly developed a large following.

A lot of new characters, which means a lot of new excitement coming up! Several of the new cast members will be inhabitants of the Kingdom of Dorne, as the show shifts part of its focus next year to the home of Prince Oberyn Martell. If you remember, he was the one who died gruesomely with his eyes plucked out and his head crushed at the hands of the The Mountain last season. The Dorne scenes will be shot in Spain. We can't wait! Season 5 will premiere in 2015.
