Which phablet device is worth the purchase? We pit the LG G Pro 2 against the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to see which is better.

In terms of diplay, the LG G Pro 2 has a massive, display measuring 5.9 inches which is aTrue IPS+ LCD that supports a resolution of 1080x1920pixels and 373ppi. The LG phablet measures 157.9×81.9×8.3 mm and weighs 172 grams.

The Samsung Galaxy Not 3 has a Super-AMOLED display measuring 5.7 inches, although it supports the same resolution as its competitor, the pixel density is higher which is 383ppi. It is 4 grams heavier and its dimensions are 151.2×79.2×8.3 mm.

For the hardware and OS, both phablet devices are powered by a Snapdragon 800 CPU and use an Adreno 330 GPU, but the Samsung Galaxy Note 3’s processor is clocked at 2.3GHz, whereas the LG G Pro 2 is clocked at 2.26GHz. They both have 3GB of RAM, and as for the internal storage: the LG G Pro 2 comes in two variants 16/32GB and it is expandable for up to 64GB, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has 16/32/64GB of internal memory (the first variants can be expanded up to 64GB).

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 runs on the Android 4.3(Jelly Bean) OS, which is upgradable to the 4.4.2(KitKat) version, while the LG G Pro operates on the Android 4.4.2(KitKat) OS.

For battery usage and camera specs, both smartphones share the same Li-Ion battery with the same capacity of 200mAh, but the Samsung unit allows users to talk for 21 hours on 3G, while the LG device allows users to talk for only 14 hours.

Both phablets have 13MP rear cameras, but the LG G Pro 2 has a much better one, because it benefits from the OIS+ technology and can record videos 2160p@30fps, 1080p@60fps and 720p@120fps, while Samsung Galaxy Note 3’s camera can record 2160p@30fps and 1080p@60fps. The secondary camera on the LG G Pro 2 is at 2.1MP, while the Samsung Note 3 has a 2MP front camera.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 32GB variant costs around $541 on amazon.com, while the LG G Pro 2 32GB variant is $20 more expensive than its competitor.
