"The Big Bang Theory" season 8 could be delayedas the contract disputes shot down production. Meanwhile, cast Mayim Bailik is reportedly getting involved in the Gaza conflict by sending money for bulletproof vests for the Israeli Defense Force.
According to a report by BBC, "The Big Bang Theory" season 8 delay could be prompted by the late start of production as the main characters and Warner Bros. Television network execs refused to budge on their respective positions on salaries.
Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar reported did not report for the first day of production last Wednesday. The cast should have started on the table read where everybody will have a run-through of the script.
In a statement, Warner Bros. said: "Due to ongoing contract negotiations, production on The Big Bang Theory - which was originally scheduled to begin today - has been postponed."
In an earlier report by TVLine, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoko and Johnny Galecki have already been raking in $350,000 per episode, but they are reportedly asking almost $1 million per episode for the eight season.
The website added that CBS head honcho for Entertainment, Nina Tassler, remains confident that a deal is going to be struck for the three actors. Nina Tassler was one of the panelists of the Television Critics Association summer press tour last week.
Meanwhile, according to Washington Times, "The Big Bang Theory" cast Mayim Bialik wrote a blog on Wednesday titled "Why I Donated Money to Send Bulletproof Vests to the IDF."
She justified her actions by claiming that she needs to feel like she's doing something in the ongoing Gaza conflict; that no matter where everybody's politics are, "soldiers sent into war zones deserve to be protected from enemy fire."
"Every soldier is someone's son or daughter. Every single one," she wrote.
