Kolo Toure, the Liverpool defender is set to stay at Anfield despite the Trabzonspor bid received from the Turkish side.

The athlete has only a year left on his contract after sealing from Manchester City last summer on a free transfer. He was able to make 24 appearances for the Reds last season, counting his 15 starts in the league as Liverpool narrowly missed out on a first league title since 1990.

Brendan Rogers, Liverpool boss said that Toure being a part of the Arsenakl 'Invincibles' side and a two-time FA Cup winner, was the key part of his master plans for the upcoming new season, even if Toure was not a regular starter.

Kolo has been an incredible player, Rogers mentioned. The Liverpool boss said talking at a news conference on Liverpool's preseason trip to the United States that they brought him in because he is a winner-an authentic winner, as a matter of fact. Toure is someone who does not play every singly week but when he plays, he does very well. He gives his all in his everyday training, Rogers added.

"Players like Kolo and Steven Gerrard, the older statesmen of the team, have been absolutely first class. We're hungry and ambitious; we went close last year."

"That inspires us and gives us great motivation to go on this year. That is the beauty of this group of players-it's a very hungry group because that's what we're trying to bring in."
