Blake Lively's lifestyle website Preserve apparently does not impress lifestyle entrepreneur Martha Stewart, who went as far as calling the actress' new endeavour "stupid", said a report from E!Online.
The 73-year-old lifestyle celebrity is said to be the 26-year-old actress' "unofficial mentor" and erstwhile friend, so Martha Stewart's comments about the Blake Lively lifestyle website inevitably made headlines.
According to a report from ABC News, Martha Stewart told Huffington Post: "I mean, it's stupid, she could be an actress!"
"I don't mean that facetiously!" she tried to clarify. "Why would you want to be me if you could be an actress?"
"I just did a movie yesterday, though-I can't even tell you about it-but I want to be Blake Lively," Martha Stewart said.
"Let her try," the lifestyle celebrity told Huffington Post of Blake Lively's lifestyle venture.
Blake Lively and Martha Stewart had known each other for some time, said the ABC News report. Back in 2012, the "Gossip Girl" lead actress had asked Martha Stewart for help in her nuptials to actor Ryan Reynolds.
Martha Stewart described the couple as "very friendly, very nice people".
"In a way, (Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are) kind of shy -- not shy on the screen, at all, if you've seen any of Blake's movies -- but very shy in person. But she's a baker and a homemaker," Martha Stewart explained.
Soon after Martha Stewart's comments about Blake Lively's lifestyle website started circulating, the Hollywood It Girl responded by saying she believes she can be both an actress and a lifestyle entrepreneur.
"I want to have my own path professionally and even as she said, I'm an actress," Blake Lively told E!Online. "I'm doing something totally different so now I sort of have two careers going on and it'll be interesting to see how it all pans out."
