Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham boss, believes his squad has been given a very essential balance ahead of the new Premier League season with new signings like Ben Davies, Michel Vorm, and Eric Dier.
Pochettino recently took over Tim Sherwood in position-who led the Spurs finish sixth last season after stepping in for Ander Vilas Boas who was dismissed in December.
The Argentine manager, nonetheless, is positive that these minimal changes to his squad, Tottenham would still be capable of challenging for a top four place in the upcoming Premier League season.
"I am very happy with the squad but you always want to improve," he said.
The new signings with the likes of Davies, Vorm, and Dier brought balance to his squad. The reputation these three have are a plus for Tottenham's profile.
"The most important thing is to get success altogether as a team. This is our principal idea, our principal thought. We are ambitious and we put a lot of pressure on the players."
"They believe in us and I believe in them. Tottenham is a big club and why can we not compete for the top four when we arrive at the end of the season? And, one day, to win the league, why not?"
Ponchettino expressed his the aversion he has at the idea of playing in the Europa League during his reign as Southampton manager.
Nevertheless, the 42-year-old boss is now relaxed and has softened his and admits the lure of a UEFA Champions League place has changed his point of view on the competitions.
"It's true that the next Europa League gives us the possibility, if we win it, to be in the Champions League. It's different now; it's a different point of view.
