"Annabelle" movie, the spin-off from "The Conjuring," features a spooky old doll that hides a diabolic secret. But what makes the toy even more interesting, apart from its appearance in the basement-cum-spooky-museum at the aforementioned smash hit, is that it is actually considered one of the most haunted objects in the world.

As it turned out, Annabelle's being haunted is not exactly just the product of a prolific writer's wild imagination to produce "Annabelle" movie. Oddee delved into the doll's scary history. In reality, the toy was a typical stuffed Raggedy Ann doll with a red triangular nose and matching red yarn hair.

The creators of the movie took liberty in recreating the entire look of the doll. In "Annabelle" movie, viewers will see an eerily human-like porcelain doll with a smile stretched across its face. Screenrant commented that it was the striking image they created for Annabelle that caught the attention of the viewers of "The Conjuring." This eventually led to its acquiring its own movie.

Oddee ranked Annabelle as the second most haunted object in the world, describing it as a doll with a lying demon. It surfaced back in 1970 when a woman bought it as a gift to her daughter who loved to keep it in her apartment, which she shared with her lady college BFF. However, it did not take long for the doll to start doing things inanimate dolls normally do not do - moving to different rooms when no one touched it and scraps of parchment paper with childish penmanship on them.

A consultation with a psychic shed light into the mystery, thus explaining why the doll was doing those strange things. But that did not conclude the story. In fact, the story it told was anything but believable...Moreover, it was not merely satisfied with just leaving cryptic childish messages on paper or checking out the girls' apartment rooms on its own volition.

However, in the "Annabelle" movie trailer on Screenrant, producer James Wan and the rest of the creators of the film decided to tease people by showing a clip of the violence that seems to explain the doll's history. As to how (and when and if) it got involved with the college girls is something that viewers will find out once the horror is unleashed in cinemas on October 3, 2014.
