Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's mom and cousin were recently involved in a fatal car crash, after an alleged drunk driver hit their vehicle.

Immediately after the incident, "The Rock" tweeted the news to his followers and wrote, "My mom" - Ata Johnson - "and my cousin Lina Fanene were stuck head on by a drunk driver this week - they lived."

"The Rock" also posted a longer message via his personal Instagram account and said, "First reaction is to find the person who did this and do unrelenting harm to them. But then you realize the most important thing is my family lived thru this and we can hug each other that much tighter these days. Hug your own family tighter today and be grateful you can tell them you love them. #BearHugsAndGratitude #100PercentPreventable #ChoicesMatter."

Dwayne did not provide additional details regarding his mom and cousin's recent accident, but his uncle, revealed that Ata and Lina were driving home from an annual fundraiser when the accident happened, according to Aceshowbiz.

Following the accident, both victims were rushed to the hospital and Ata stayed at the institution for three days, Newsday noted.

Lina, 31, who is currently training as a WWE Diva at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, posted a photo of herself with the "Pain and Gain" actor, who visited her at the hospital, along with several other friends and family members.

She wrote, "We are a bunch of goof balls!" In another photo, Lina shared a snap of herself wearing an arm sling and wrote, "Still all smiles! Very grateful to be alive and for the love from all of my family and friends! Incredibly blessed!"

Meanwhile, police officials and investigators are still currently tracking down the drunk driver who allegedly ran off after the accident earlier this month, E! News noted.
