Johnny Depp is an actor known for his often very quirky, whimsical roles. That he can do serious drama too just adds to the depth of the man as an actor.

In the newest Johnny Depp movie, the actor stars in Mortdecai, and the trailer has just been released. The movie also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor, Avengers Age Of Ultron actor Paul Bettany, and Audrey Plaza and it revolves around the art dealer Charles Mortdecai, who is on the hunt for a stolen art work that is allegedly connected to a missing bank account that is filled with gold filched by the Nazis.

The movie is based on a 1970s serial comic novel written by Kyril Bonfiglioli. The stories revolve around the English aristocratic art dealer Charles Mortdecai, who is always on an adventure alongside his manservant named Jock Strapp. The titles of the book series include, "Don't Point That Thing At Me," "After You With A Pistol," "Something Nasty In The Woodshed," and "The Great Moustache Mystery."

The novels have been compared in a good way to that of P.G. Wodehouse' own famous characters, Wooster and Jeeves.

Charles Mortdecai is one of those loveable Johnny Depp roles, and the character has been described as a "debonair art dealer and part time rogue."

The trailer doesn't show much in the way of a plot line, but it does give us glimpse of the star studded cast. It also shows Johnny Depp in a ridiculous looking moustache, playing an aristocratic English twit, as only the talented actor can.

Mortdecai directed by David Koepp (writer of Spider Man, Jurassic Park: The Lost World, War of the Worlds, Mission Impossible)

Mortdecai will be showing in cinemas on February 6, 2015. In the meantime, be sure to check it out and watch the trailer below!
