With hundreds or even thousands of transfer news going around today, Xherdan Shaqiri still has been the subject of intense talk this summer regarding his transfer. However, the 22-year-old athlete expects nothing but to remain at Bayern Munich.
The Switzerland international has been linked in a move to a lot of interested clubs, most especially at Liverpool, and now, Ligue 1 giants Monaco are also eyeing the transfer window for him.
Shaqiri is often forced to settle for an impact role off the bench due to the lack of regular first-team football in Germany. For this reason, interests from other clubs have been lit.
The athlete was held in high regard at the Allianz Arena, although he is tied to a contract in Bayern until 2016. Shaqiri also admits that he is going to stay in his current club and is unlikely to move during the summer window. "I am a player of Bayern Munich as I am under contract with the club," he said.
"Basically, I believe I will be staying on at Bayern Munich."
"But as long as the transfer window is open, anything could happen in the very end."
Bayern Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge revealed that all the advances and offers regarding Shaqiri have been turned down as they are receiving a lot of approaches for the athlete.
"We've had several enquiries from teams in England and Italy," he told the club's official website.
"I've never had a conversation because we are convinced he will have a good career with us. He must stay healthy, (but) the coach is convinced by him."
