After his newly-promoted side held Inverness to a goalless draw, Dundee manager Paul Hartley was nonetheless satisfied with the performance of his team.
So far, it was their second draw in their opening two games in the top-flight. The match would have been even better if Peter Macdonald had not blazed over and Gary Harkins not been denied by a last-ditch tackle from David Raven.
"We're pleased with the result because this is a hard place to come," he said. "In the second half we created the better chances and on another day we could have won the game.
"We changed shape a couple of times and the boys immediately altered, so you have to give them credit for that."
Meanwhile, Inverness manager John Hughes felt his side needed to be more tactical and clever in order to win the match in the Highlands.
"It's a little bit frustrating not to win the game. We had enough effort and commitment," he said.
"In that final third, we need to be a bit more creative and have that little bit of magic to unlock the defence. It was a good game and you have to give credit to Dundee. They're a newly-promoted side and they've come away from home."
He also tipped his attacking players to pay close attention and take note of assistant manager Russell Latapy.
"Ryan Christie and Marley Watkins need to get that education from Russell," added Hughes.
"They need to get in areas where they can pick up and the ball and get at teams. That's where Russell needs to come in."
