He may be one-third of the 'Harry Potter' golden trio and have so much money than most 25-year-olds in the United Kingdom but when it comes to fellow ginger Ed Sheeran, Rupert Grint suddenly becomes unrecognizable.

Grint, who plays Potter's best friend in the highly successful Warner Brothers franchise says he gets mistaken for his musician friend a lot. His striking resemblance to the 'Don't' singer confuses a lot of fans, even celebrities!

''[Do we get mixed up?] Yes of course, a lot. People get confused all the time," Contact Music reported the British star as saying. "One time I was at this Formula One race and Leo Sayer was there. There was definitely a kind of confusion because he came up to me and said how much he liked my music.''

To avoid embarrassment (probably for both of them) Grint just nodded along, adding "he was so convinced I was Ed, I just played along. Ha.''

Luckily, with the actor's laid-back personality, the mix-up doesn't upset him.

"People think I'm Ed Sheeran," Grint told Match Of The Day magazine in an interview about the predicament. "They compliment me on my music career and I just play along with it! It's never too bad, you get the odd person staring at you but it's pretty manageable."

The resemblance was so strong that it lead to Ed Sheeran and Rupert Grint appearing together in the former's 'Lego House' music video with the latter portraying an obsessed Sheerio. Viewers of the clip were made to believe that Grint was Sheeran majority of the video.

The British actor will star in the new animated film, 'The Unbeatables.' He will also make his Broadway debut this fall in 'It's Only A Play,' after storming London's theatre scene as a drug dealer in 'Mojo' last year.

Sheeran, on the other hand, just recently released his new album, 'X,' and has been spending some shirtless summer days with his rumoured girlfriend in Ibiza.

Confusion or not, a second collaboration between Ed Sheeran and Rupert Grint in the future would be quite awesome.
