The epic intergalactic saga, which the Wachowski brothes of "The Matrix Trilogy" fame directed, ran into budget problems concerning the huge amount required to finish all 2,000 special effects incorporated into the film, along with problems in creating an effective marketing campaign for its release.

Christian Post corroborated this information by featuring the statement from Dan Fellman, the head of domestic distribution for Warner Bros., which contained those exact details explaining the delay of the film's release.

But there were others that speculated it may have a lot to do with the two big films slated for release in July and August 2014: "Transformers 4" and "Guardians of the Galaxy." They say that being sandwiched between these two much-anticipated flicks, which have already gained a huge following prior to their release date, may affect the standing of "Jupiter Ascending" in the box office.

The stars description of the movie gave a positive assurance of sorts. According to Douglas Booth, who portrays the role of Titus Abrasax in the flick, "Jupiter Ascending" is more like a combination of "Star Wars" and "The Matrix."
