From the creators of the critically acclaimed 'Halo' series, Bungie is poised to experience similar success when their new game, Destiny. A month ago, Destiny Beta has come to an end, and gamers across the globe were saddened by the death of their progress and favorite guardians. This might sound like a good news to the developers for it indicates the strong support of players towards the game!
However, that might be in jeopardy as it seems they are favoring the PS gamers over Xbox owners. According to their official website:
"In-game content for Destiny will remain exclusive for PlayStation owners for a year. Not only will the content stay exclusive for a year, but the Destiny Expansion Pass will remain exclusive for a year as well so fans will not be able to play the DLC content which can be accessed through the Destiny Expansion Pass."
All the PlayStation exclusivity has angered a lot of Xbox owners who have been supporting the studio for a very long time during the Halo days. Thus, fans demanded an explanation regarding this issue.
In this week's Bungie Update, Destiny Community Manager David "DeeJ" Dague answered a question, "Why do you hate your Xbox fans?"
Here is what Dague had to say after he was asked this question:
"We don't hate any of our fans. When we look at Bungie.net, we see gamers. We dare say that we see Bungie fans - although that might be assuming too much. Loving a good game and the hard-working developers who create it is not a console exclusive. This is one place where Guardians will truly be equal. You'll each have a chance to become legend on this site. Our hope is that we can use this environment to talk about the amazing experiences we will all have in common. Bungie has embraced many different platforms in our storied history. We have a hard time sitting still. Our goal has been to create amazing worlds and fill them with as many passionate people as possible. What we would tell you is that, if you want to explore the world of Destiny, it was built with you in mind. We make games here at Bungie. We love the people who play them equally."
