Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart recently spotted together; has the couple mended ways?

The Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart breakup briefly flared up in recent news, but if sightings of the couple in the same spot are confirmed, then is this a sign they're trying to work things out?

The pair was seen together in L.A. last Monday, cruising in Smart's convertible. J-Lo seemed friendly with her ex-boyfriend during the ride, until she noticed the paparazzi taking their pictures.

J-Lo tried her best to duck from the cameras, but the press already had plenty of shots taken as proof of the encounter. The two were reportedly driving back to Lopez's house, with the singer seated on the passenger side of the convertible.

Rumors the two have mended ways after the fallout are practically disproved by a source close to the couple, though. In an E! news report, the source comments on Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart:

"They are still friends, they are not back together." Another source from Casper's camp confirms there's "nothing romantic going on between the two of them.Casper has an enormous amount of respect for Jennifer and her kids. He still loves her and cares about the kids. Nothing has really chanced since they split regarding their relationship and nothing romantic is going on."

News that Lopez and Smart are on friendlier terms could be legitimate, especially with rumors J-Lo is getting cozy with someone else on her 45th birthday.

Lopez is reported to be in a relationship with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and sources claimed they were "affectionate," and "they seemed really happy to see each other."

"There has been a date here and there, but really they are good friends before anything else. Maks asks her for advice and she thinks he is super-talented and very hot. Obviously, that is hard to ignore."
