The Maltese are mixed emotions once more as power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie come to their island to film yet another project. At one point, the power couple's visit appears to be harmless since the people there seem to be very comfortable having Brangelina around. On the other hand, the couple's project would also mean closing down a public beach until November.

During their first on-screen appearance since 2005 in “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt began to work on their own love story movie “By the Sea”. According to Aceshowbiz, the local newspapers are already reporting that the picturesque beach of Mgarr ix-Xini is going to be closed to the public beginning today, August 18 until November 10, in order to accommodate the film crew.

Apparently, the work on the sets have already started some while ago, before Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt even set foot on the island, while the main part of project was geared towards building two structures, one on the beach and another on a cliff opposite the beach.

For now, it wasn’t that sure if people are happy or sad about the film crew taking over part of the island, but the local authorities are clearly pleased with the press they are getting.

“I'm happy that Hollywood producers have once again chosen Malta for their project, and we will be delighted to host Mr. Pitt, Ms. Jolie, and their family for the second time in just a few years,” said Joseph Muscat, Prime Minister of Malta.

For Pitt, this is a return to Malta, the island where he shot “Troy” in 2004 and “World War Z” in 2013.

“By the Sea” will be the first time Pitt and Jolie have appeared onscreen together since 2005's Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Universal picked up the worldwide rights to the drama, and sources close to the production told The Hollywood Reporter that a main plot detail in the film would see Pitt's and Jolie's characters getting married.
