The highly-anticipated Apple iWatch release date this coming October may be postponed to 2015. This is according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Kuo, who is well-trusted when it comes to Apple rumors, hinted that this may be due to strains in manufacturing the new gadget. She said in a report by MacRumors: "We reiterate our view that iWatch, as compared to existing products, and as Apple's (US) first attempt at a wearable device, represents a much higher level of difficulty for the company as regards component and system design, manufacturing and integration between hardware and software. While we are positive on iWatch and believe that the advantages of the design and business model behind it are difficult to copy, we think, given the aforementioned challenges, that the launch could be postponed to 2015."
But according to TechRadar Network, an analyst anticipates Apple iWatch release date to fall on November. Instead of delaying its market introduction to next year, a limit in the supply of the Apple smart watches may take place by October or November - just like what happen when iPhone 5S was launched last year.
Apple iWatch rumor has it that the gadget has a number of devices for health and fitness, measuring metrics, such as calorie consumption, blood oxygen levels, and others.
Aside from the Apple iWatch release date, another aspect that is being looked into is the price. How much will the most-awaited Apple smart watch cost? According to Katy Huberty, an analyst of Morgan Stanley, the company will value Apple iWatch at $300. She also predicted in her research report that between 30 million and 60 million units will be sold in its first year.
9to5Mac also wrote that Apple is believed to be tapping the services of Los Angeles Lakers player Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Kings Dustin Brown, and other stellar athletes to test the iWatch. They are reported to have signed non-disclosure agreements pertaining to the Apple smart watch.
