Hwon confirmed that Yeon Woo is still alive.
In episode 16 of The Moon That Embraces the Sun aired on Feb. 23, Lee Hwon summoned Jang Nok Young and questioned about the Black Arts.
Hwon couldn't shake off the suspect that Yeon Woo might be still alive as he investigates the 8-year past incident about the death of the crowned prince's wife. Hwon called Jang and attempted to find out if Yeon Woo's disappearance was caused by Black Magic as he asks Jang the reason why he left 8 years ago all of sudden.
Hwon asked if Jang ever tried the Black Arts. But Jang denied that he can't do it, and he wouldn't be here if he ever did. However, Hwon didn't remove his suspect and gave an order to Hong Kyu Tae to further investigate Yeon Woo's death.
Hong found a curious clue and he reported to Hwon, "Yeon Woo's tomb was dug up the next day. And, there's a woman keeps coming out wherever I investigate - that's Yeon Woo's maid. She is now the Wol's maid."
Hearing this, Hwon determines that the shaman Wol is Yeon Woo. He visits Jang once again and asked, "Is shaman Wol who lost her memory Yeon Woo?"
Jang couldn't answer. Hwon realized that Wol was Yeon Woo; He remembered his cold behavior and words toward her and cried out.
Wol, in this episode, finds out that princess Min Hwa has been involved in the conspiracy around her, and gets a big shock.
