BET has decided to suspend "106 & Park's" producer for allowing a joke directed at Blue Ivy Carter to air on Monday night's show.

Karrueche Tran was invited to host the show live on Monday where she allegedly threw shade at Beyonce and Jay Z's two-year-old daughter Blue Ivy's hair.

"I really did wake up like this, because my parents never comb my hair," she said.

The 26-year-old then received a slew of negative comments from Beyonce and Jay Z's fans but she later on explained that it wasn't her intention to poke fun on the toddler and stressed that the script was revised just a few minutes before the cameras rolled, according to the Huffington Post.

Following the incident, BET's president of music programming and specials, Stephen Hill, issued an apology addressed to the Carter family, Perez Hilton reported.

"Last night on 106 & Park there was a stupid, unthoughtful joke made about a young child. We apologize publicly to the child's parents and have done so privately and have taken punitive actions with those responsible. It was very bad judgment and will serve you much better in the future," Hill said.

Hill also defended Tran from bashers who initially thought the joke was her idea, Beauty World News noted.

"Oh, and please don't hate on Karrueche; it was NOT her fault. We also apologize to her for putting her in that position," Hill tweeted.

Meanwhile, an insider previously dished to Hollywood Life that Karrueche herself was stunned with the joke and was taken aback by it, but she had to continue on for the sake of the live telecast.

"She was mortified when she read those words about Blue but she had to keep her composure and play it off. It really affected her because she really loves Beyonce and her music and just wish this never happened," she said.
