Fans of Elsa and the gang can start getting really excited now. Walt Disney Animation studios has just confirmed that a brand new Frozen short film will be out early next year, as they fulfill the fan's wishes to see their favorite characters again, after the movie's highly successful run.

The new Frozen short film will once again bring together the film directors responsible for the movie's staggering, unprecedented success -- Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck. And of course, Frozen would not be the film we know and love today if not for the songs. The Academy award winning composers Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez are back on the film too, and expect maybe a new song or two to be made especially for this Frozen short film.

The new Frozen movie plot involves Elsa and Kristoff secretly planning to come up with a birthday treat for Anna, but with many glitches along the way because of Elsa's powers that sometimes gets out of control.

Let's hope it's not all hype and that this new Frozen project will live up to the expectations that the awesomeness of the first movie has created. It's become one of Disney's most successful films of all time: it is the highest grossing film of all time, and it is the top grossing full-length animated film in history. The movie won two Oscar awards for Best Animated Feature, and Best Original Song for "Let It Go." It also bagged Best Animated film awards from the Golden Globes, the BAFTA, and Critics' Choice Awards. The film has become so successful that it has spawned numerous parodies, and its signature song "Let It Go" has been remade over and over again, with different gimmicks, and even different languages.

According to Disney Insider Blog, our beloved characters Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf are all expected back for the Frozen short film, although it has not been confirmed whether the original actors who voiced them -- Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad will be back to do their voices once again.
