It is official: "Boondock Saints 3" with Norman Reedus of "The Walking Dead' fame and Sean Patrick Flanery will be shown on the big screen soon.

Many rumors confirming and nullifying the flick's production has been circulating in the Internet lately. Finally, the producers have cleared the air and made this announcement. Cine Linx revealed that Troy Duffy has been hard at work, penning the script.

Based on the leaked script, "Boondock Saints 3" with Norman Reedus of "The Walking Dead' fame and Sean Patrick Flanery will be a reality. However, given the fact that the flick is still in the scriptwriting process stage, snags may surface along the way and keep this from happening.

If everything goes well and the movie does materialize, "Boondock Saints 3" with Norman Reedus of "The Walking Dead' fame will be a sequel to "The Boondock Saints." Screenrant reported that the flick's plot revolves around two vigilante Irish brothers out on a deadly, holy mission to hunt down and kill the vilest of criminals.

Although production woes kept it from becoming a hit on the big screen, it met huge success with home video releases. Its popularity has created a huge cult following who have avidly followed its releases for 15 years now since its debut in 1999, Screenrant reported.

The success of the ""Boondock Saints" with home video, made possible through verbal influence (from satisfied viewers and fans obviously), gave way to the creation of the second sequel entitled "The Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day."

However, even if word was out that Norman Reedus will be reprising his role in the film, Screenrant divulged that the famous "The Walking Dead" actor was not too keen about it. He may have liked how the original franchise turned out, but he was not as happy with the sequel. According to him, the third franchise should be seriously dark and epic. He said that it would be much better if the plot will finalize the story, as it centralizes on the brothers' plight rather than the new characters.
