Bad news gaming fans! It looks like Final Fantasy XV will not show up in this year's Tokyo Game Show event in Japan.
Cyberland has reported before that the new Final Fantasy XV demo is rumored to be shown in Tokyo Game Show 2014 this month along with Kingdom Hearts 3. But, according to reports from Air Herald, Square Enix recently announced that both Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3 will not be showcased at the event.
Square Enix games to be shown off at the Tokyo Game Show include Bravely Second, Dragon Quest X Online, Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, and others.
More bad news comes there way, when a staff member of FFFXV decided to leave the game.
Air Herald reports that lead programmer Kentaro Yasui had departed the project, and other information suggested that he had left Square Enix altogether to work on a different game.
This was not the first setback in the game’s production, however. Final Fantasy XV originally began development for the PlayStation 3, but was eventually pushed back and slated for next-gen systems instead. Not only that fans have been anticipating the game this year at E3, San Diego Comic Con, and in Tokyo Game Show, but was not meant to happen.
Gematsu has reported before that FFXV director Tetsuya Nomura shared some new details regarding FFXV's gameplay.
"Final Fantasy XV is the first game of the Final Fantasy numbered title that is an action-based RPG. Since the beginning of 3D graphics, Final Fantasy has largely used pre-rendered movies, but what's different about this new hardware is that it allows you to direct what has previously been pre-rendered and make it real-time. For this reason, even in considerably dynamic scenes, the player can still control their character."
He also talked about the realistic graphics that will be integrated into the game.
"Because Final Fantasy XV's theme is 'fantasy based on reality,' the concept for the art is to look like real-world spaces. That a fantasy is happening within this is a major point for Final Fantasy XV. Realizing this power of expression was difficult before PlayStation 4. It has been ages since the last Final Fantasy game was released."
Cyberland reported that the release date for FFXV is allegedly set on May 2015 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
