Sara Gilbert has revealed that she is pregnant, said a report from Entertainment Tonight. "The Talk" host revealed on live television on Tuesday that she and her wife Linda Perry are expecting their first child.
The revelation that Sara Gilbert is pregnant came after she excused herself from the show's "Face Your Fears" segment.
The CBS show's game had an extreme dare for the 39-year-old TV personality: she had to lie down between two beds of nails, have a cinder block placed on top of her stomach, and endure having a sledgehammer smashed onto her.
Sara Gilbert begged off from the dare and said: "I really do believe in facing your fears and doing things that make you uncomfortable... "
The host was visibly emotional and held back tears when she continued: "... But I actually can't do the dare because I'm pregnant."
As soon as Sara Gilbert announced she is pregnant, "The Talk" co-hosts Aisha Tyler, Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen and Sheryl Underwood excitedly jumped out of their chairs to hug the expecting mom, said the Entertainment Tonight report.
Sara Gilbert pregnant news was then confirmed via the official Twitter page of "The Talk". The tweet of @TheTalk_CBS read: "BIG BABY NEWS! Sending congratulations & love to @THEsaragilbert!!!! #TheTalk"
According to the Entertainment Tonight report, Sara Gilbert and singer-songwriter Linda Perry married in March. The host's wife was also in the CBS studio when the big news was revealed. She went on to tweet about the announcement, saying: "I'm at @TheTalk_CBS watching my wife @THEsaragilbert and she is sooooo beautiful so smart."
While this will be Sara Gilbert's first child with Linda Perry, "The Talk" host has two children from a previous relationship. The kids are 9-year-old Levi Hank and 7-year-old Sawyer, whom Sara Gilbert had with ex-girlfriend and TV producer Allison Alder.
According to a report from The Examiner, "The Talk" segment "Face Your Fears" premiered on Monday in time for the female-oriented show's new season.
The new segment will have each of the show's host take on a dare to help them overcome their fears. The first host to take on a dare for the said segment was Sheryl Underwood, who spent 60 seconds in a tank filled with snakes during the season premiere last Monday.
