"Finding Carter" officially ended the season on a high note. Not only were fans surprised by some of the biggest twists, they were also left wondering why some characters suddenly had a change of heart.
In a recent interview with TV Line, the show's executive producer, Terry Minsky dished on why Lori decided to abduct Carter again and explained why Max decided to leave Taylor for good.
Talking about Lori's re-kidnapping, Minsky explained, "The idea was always that Lori abducts Carter again, this time against her will. When MTV called me and said, 'We're going to pick up the first season, but you need to have a great cliffhanger,' I was like, 'I know what it is!' We were always headed for that abduction, but the question was how."
Minsky also talked about the actual relationship Lori possibly had with Elizabeth's husband, David. Thousands of fans are speculating that Lori most likely had an affair with David, Crushable noted.
"Well, I have to say, I've enjoyed reading people's guesses about what's really going on. The thing I wanted to always be an underlying backbone for as long as I could is 'Why did this woman abduct this child?' I knew the back story had to be something that, when we know what it is, would inform the characters and how you thought about them moving forward. The back story has not completely been told," Minsky explained.
With regards to the character of Max, Minsky explained that the initial plan was to kill the character in episode ten however MTV called the creators of "Finding Carter" and suggested to keep his role alive.
However, a huge change is about to come Max's way after he decided to end his relationship with Taylor. When asked why Minsky decided to go on with the plot, she said, "I wanted Max to come out of his situation changed."
