"Scandal" creator Shonda Rhimes has revealed that "Private Practice" actor Brian Benben will be joining the cast of the series as a guest star this season.

Rhimes has not revealed the role that Benben will be playing but has hinted that he will appear in only one episode, according to TV Line.

This is not the first time that Rhimes has made his actors cross paths with other series. In the past, some of today's "Scandal" regulars have also appeared on "Grey's Anatomy" and "Private Practice," Entertainment Weekly reported.

Meanwhile, Kerry Washington, who plays the titular role of Olivia Pope, recently dished on what fans may expect this season.

Last season, Pope went away with her boyfriend Jake - to a place no one knows exactly where. A few weeks back, a teaser clip was released and it featured Pope lazing away at the beach. The tagline of the clip read, "Where on Earth is Olivia Pope?"

No one knows exactly where she went and fans are becoming ever more curious, but now Washington herself has opened up about it.

In an interview with E! News, Washington revealed that she knows exactly where Pope is but explained that she only has the script for up to episode four.

"I know where Olivia went, I don't really know a lot. I'm actually glad we don't get like a full outline of the season because then I don't have to feel bad about lying to people and not telling things. I don't know what's going on. All I have is through episode four, so I know a bit more than you do," she said.

Actor Joe Morton, who plays the role of Rowan Pope told E! News, "I think if Olivia returns, he's going to be kind of concerned about that, wondering why she's back and what for and how that's going to work out. I also think what's going to happen is people are going to find out what I did and sparks are going to fly."
