The photos of the Angelina-Brad Pitt were purchased for a whopping $2 million by People and the magazine averages about 880,000 sold issues. Despite the print mode being out of style in some circles, the average spiked to one million copies on news and photos covering the high-profile wedding.

The Robin Williams issue proved to be even more lucrative with sales of 1.2 million copies. However, the Joan Rivers tribute fetched a magnificent 1.3 million copies, a 60 percent addition to the average number of issues sold.
With more people interested in Joan Rivers’ People magazine tribute and cover story, Perezhilton reported, “We figure beating Brangelina is just about as Hollywood as you can get. And it's just what Joan would have wanted.”

While it’s true that Rivers was tough competition but she sounded off reality checks to controversial issues.
Rivers was admitted at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City after a complication during an outpatient biopsy procedure for her vocal cords from an outpatient clinic, which is under investigation. She reportedly suffered a heart arrest and was rushed to Mount Sinai, where she died alongside her daughter Melissa.
