Johny Hendricks' next fight has been pushed back to February 2015, as the fighter's camp revealed that the reigning UFC welterweight champion's health is only at "85 percent" as he recuperates from injury.

Johny Hendricks' next fight is slated against Robbie Lawler, after "Ruthless" gained back the number one contender status by defeating fellow contender Jake Ellenberger at UFC 173 in May.

"Bigg Rigg" is currently in the sidelines, after injuring his bicep during his title fight against Lawler in March. Hendricks emerged victorious in the fight via unanimous decision, claiming the then vacant 170-pound title, which was originally held by Georges St-Pierre.

In a June interview with USA Today, Hendricks admitted that it was tough for him to remain shelved, given his background as a decorated amateur wrestler during his college days.

"It's tough for me. Growing up wrestling, you get injured and they expect you back on the mat in a couple weeks unless it's really bad," Hendricks explained. "What I found out is that if I jump the gun, instead of being six weeks in a sling and six weeks recovering, it might turn into 12 weeks in a sling and 12 weeks recovering."

"It sucks being on the sidelines, knowing these guys are all fighting to get to me, and I can't do anything about it," Hendricks added. "I can't train for it, can't get ready for it. The only thing I can do is sit here and wait for them to battle it out. I don't like that."

"Bigg Rigg's" return from injury was originally scheduled for January, but was pushed back to either February or March. In an interview with ESPN, wrestling coach Kenny Monday said that Hendricks is still about "85 percent" healed from his injury, hence the rescheduling.

"I know everyone would have loved January, but it doesn't look like that's going to work out," Monday said about Johny Hendricks' next fight. "I'm thinking he fights in February or March."
