A new Final Fantasy XV gameplay demo has been revealed last week during the Tokyo Game Show 2014 event.

Square Enix has featured a 5 minute gameplay demo for FFXV as the stage demo featured some impressive visuals, but perhaps the most important part of the presentation was director Hajime Tabata’s insistence upon showing the footage since commenters online are under the impression that the Final Fantasy XV was full of only pre-rendered footage. Here is the video below.

Air Herald has reported before that Square Enix will not showcase FFXV and Kingdom Hearts 3 as several Square Enix games that are said to be shown in Tokyo Game Show include Bravely Second, Dragon Quest X Online, Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, and others.

But, it turns out that Square Enix surprised Final Fantasy fans and gamers alike by showing off a new trailer of the game.

The new trailer features Noctis and his friends Prompto, Gladiolus, and Ignis taking a road trip out their Kingdom as the video cuts-off thru a series of gameplay battles with monsters and soldiers. It looks like Noctis' crew are looking for Stella Nox Flouret, the main female character and possibly an antagonist of FFXV. The video also shows several new gameplay details and exploration.

The new FFXV trailer surely renewed the interest of gaming fans alike, but all good things came with a price as Tetsuya Nomura will no longer direct the game.

According to reports from Gematsu, Tetsuya Nomura has step down as FFXV director in order to focus on Kingdom Hearts 3, and the website revealed that Hajime Tabata of Final Fantasy Type-0 will replace him as director.

Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda made a statement regarding Nomura leaving the game.

"In reviewing our development structure, we have decided to assign Hajime Tabata as the new director for Final Fantasy XV. Currently, Tabata and the entire development team are working, whole-heartedly, towards completing the production of Final Fantasy XV and ensuring the delivery of the highest quality Final Fantasy title to date. We invite every one of our fans to view the fruits of our labor through Final Fantasy XV's demo, and promise to present a game that further surpasses expectations when the finished product is released.

As the director of Final Fantasy XV, Tetsuya Nomura has mainly worked on the original concept for the story and universe in addition to creating the characters. Hereafter, he will be focusing his efforts on the production of titles that can only be made possible by Nomura, himself, and delivering products that exceed the quality of past titles, starting with another one of his representative projects, Kingdom Hearts III. Square Enix will continue to work on these titles with the best staff formation in an effort to deliver them to everyone as soon as possible and appreciates your continued support."

Lastly, the FFXV demo will be released on March 2015 as it is included in the Final Fantasy Type-0 HD for the PS4 and Xbox One and the following dates are set on March 17 in North America, March 19 in Japan, and March 20 in Europe.

The demo is called Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae and “includes elements from the opening sections of the full game, but alters story progression and more to create a unique first-play experience”.
