The prince started his visit in Malta by awarding George Cross to the island of Malta at the nation's National library, to commemorate its 50 years of independence.
Prince William and Kate are expecting their second child some time in the spring, and so the Prince had to step up for his wife when she was unable to fulfill her royal duties. According to reports, the Duke of Cambridge hopes that it will be a baby girl.
