"Modern Family" actress Sarah Hyland obtained a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, Matthew Prokop, due to allegations that he physically and verbally abused her during the course of their five-year relationship, according to MTV News.

The 23-year-old actress, who has been known for resembling Mila Kunis, claimed in her court filing that Prokop "relentlessly bombarded me with vile, threatening and emotionally disturbing texts and voice mails including his own suicide threats," after the pair's break up, according to documents obtained by TMZ.

Matthew Prokop, an actor who once appeared on "Modern Family," also reportedly threatened that Hyland would never see her dog again, according to the documents.

Prokop allegedly pinned Hyland against a car during an argument regarding her outfit back in May and began calling her inappropriate names while choking her, the documents read.

"His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak. I was scared and in fear for my life," Hyland reportedly stated.

After deciding to break up with Prokop, Hyland asked her TV mom Julie Bowen to come to her house to help "peacefully end the relationship."

When Matthew Prokop arrived to the home and saw Bowen along with others, he reportedly "ran outside into the backyard and began screaming."

The actress' ex-boyfriend reportedly threw a lighter at her, causing Bowen to step in and tell Hyland to leave the house.

An L.A. judge reportedly granted a temporary restraining requiring Prokop to stay at least 100 yards away from Sarah Hyland and her dog at all times.
