Sherri Shepherd latest news narrates about her estranged husband's claims regarding the surrogate baby. According to Hollywood Life, the LA based writer had an interview with Daily Mail revealing that the former "The View" co-host "begged" him to have a child, who afterwards was allegedly abandoned by Shepherd.
Reportedly, after LJ was born, a letter from Sherri's lawyer was sent to Lamar telling him that the comedienne has "no relationship" with the child and that he would "not be covered" as a dependent on her health insurance.
"Sherri told me, 'it's your sperm, not my egg, so it's YOUR baby'," Lamar explains in the interview.
In the same interview as reported by Hollywood Life, Lamar also discloses that Sherri pleaded him to have a child with her. However, getting pregnant was difficult for Shepherd. Lamar shared his willingness to wait but because of his love for his then-wife and his desire to make her happy, they were left to work with a surrogate.
"[Sherri] said, 'I will love the baby like it's mine,'" says Sally in an interview with People. Sally says that six months into pregnancy "blindsided him with the news that she wanted a divorce." Still, "she never said she didn't want the baby," says Sally.
Reportedly, Shepherd's eggs cannot be used at the time; they used Lamar's sperm and a donor's egg to have LJ.
Meanwhile, the daytime host remained silent about it in public. Instead she vents out to her friend Wendy Williams. "We don't talk but I'm on my knees praying a lot for him," she told Wendy Williams about her ex as reported by ABC. "I have a lot of lawyers... and it's very public and it's very painful. For me, I'm not Tori [Spelling] and Dean [McDermott]: I'm not paid to talk about my life."
