Jennifer Lawrence vs. Shailene Woodley- what's the real deal?

One thing is clear: Shailene Woodley doesn't want to be compared to Jennifer Lawrence.

During her interview on "The Tonight Show," Woodley was asked by host Jimmy Fallon how she felt about being compared to "The Hunger Games" star JLaw.

"Well, comparisons always lead to despair," Woodley said.

According to some Jennifer Lawrence vs. Shailene Woodley rumors, her response got boos from the audience who was reportedly "shocked and angry" with her honest reply. The segment was said to be edited out from the episode.

"It bothered me, because it's human nature to feel bad if you are booed by an entire audience," she shared.

Woodley also explained that her response was not because she taught highly of herself:

"As women, we are constantly told that we need to compare ourselves to a girl in school, to our co-workers, to the images in a magazine," she said.

"How is the world going to advance if we're always comparing ourselves to others? I admire Jennifer Lawrence, but she's everyone's favorite person to compare me to. Is it because we both have short hair and a vagina? I see us as separate individuals. And that's important."

While Shailene Woodley doesn't appreciate being compared to anyone, and to Jennifer Lawrence in particular, she admits of asking "The Hunger Games" actress for advice before. She revealed that even though they're different unique individuals, they share the same passion for their craft.

"I asked her advice. I do think we have things in common. We both believe in having fun and still telling the truth. We're not fashion girls, but we play the game. And we both care deeply about being actors."
