Connor McGregor's next fight has been announced, and it will be against former UFC lightweight title contender Diego "The Dream" Sanchez in November. However, company president Dana White denied the upcoming match-up.
The fighter himself made the announcement of Connor McGregor's next fight, through Twitter.
"I am fighting @DiegoSanchezUFC in Mexico, November 15th," he tweeted. "He spoke a big game. Now he will pay with his career. VIVA LA EIRE!!!"
"The Notorious'" coach John Kavanagh also confirmed Conor McGregor's next fight in Mexico through his own tweet.
"I guess I'm going to Mexico," he wrote.
Both McGregor and Sanchez had been trading verbal barbs on social media since August. "The Dream" initiated the war of words, as he lambasted McGregor about the opponents he had faced during that time.
"Cant believe the hype on this next guy not being a hater but who the hell has he beat more less even faced? Im taking @BlessedMMA," Sanchez wrote.
The former UFC lightweight title contender went on with his tirades, lambasting McGregor and calling the latter out for the "hype" surrounding his Octagon persona.
"Just because dana takes you for a ride in his Ferrari does not make you the next best thing," Sanchez continued. "The guy is talented very but hype is just hype."
A few days after, the brash Irishman responded to Sanchez, attacking the fighter's physical attributes.
"@DiegoSanchezUFC You're the fattest, sloppiest, slowest Martial Artist i've ever laid eyes on," McGregor tweeted. "I'd go up to 170 to whoop your fat ass. EASY."
Meanwhile, as the hype for Conor McGregor's next fight supposedly against Diego Sanchez was slowly getting traction, UFC President Dana White instantly denied the match-up.
White's response was tweeted by ESPN's Brett Okamoto.
"Dana White on Conor in Mexico: That kid is nuts. No he's not. He wants to but he's not," Okamoto wrote.
