With Halloween just around the corner, what are the best films to watch this October 2014?
Although nine months have already gone by in 2014, some of the year's most anticipated movies are just gearing up to hit cinemas!
David Fincher's 'Gone Girl' has already been showing in theaters since October 3. The film adaptation based on Gillian Flynn's bestselling crime novel of the same name stars Ben Affleck who is suspected of killing his missing wife.
The prequel for 2013's breakout scary movie, 'The Conjuring,' has also been showing in theaters since October 3. 'Annabelle' will tell the story of the first movie's creepy doll and why it became deadly in 'Conjuring.'
Halloween wouldn't be perfect without the appearance of a vampire or two, and Legendary, has the perfect film for that.
'Dracula Untold' is a 3D film is a fictional account based on the life of Vlad the Impaler before he became the iconic Count Dracula. According to Screenrant, filmmakers hope to paint the feared vampire's origin in a more humane light.
The origin story, which will hit theaters on October 10, features Luke Evans as the Dark Prince. It also stars Bradley Cooper, Sarah Gideon, and Charles Dance.
Daniel Radcliffe has already done one horror film (The Woman In Black) but this year, he's taking things a bit further.
Based on Joe Hill's bestselling novel, 'Horns' will fittingly be shown in cinemas on October 31. The 'Harry Potter' star won't just be dealing with scary ghosts in this Toronto International Film Festival entry, he'll be tormented by the devil himself.
Accused of killing his girlfriend, Ig Perrish (Radcliffe) literally turns into the devil and uses his newfound supernatural powers to figure out who really murdered Merrin (June Temple).
Last but not least, Jake Gyllenhaal's hair-raising portrayal of a very driven and obsessed crime journalist in the trailer for 'Nightcrawler' already piqued quite a few people's interests.
It's still unsure if Lou Bloom (Gyllenhaal) will really go down the crazy rabbit hole in the movie, but some people, according to Screenrant, is already calling 'Nightcrawler' this year's 'Drive.' It's due out on October 31.
Several other notable releases this month, though not entirely scary enough for the season, include 'The Judge,' which stars Robert Downey, Jr., 'The Fury,' starring Brad Pitt, and Michael Keaton's 'Birdman.'
