Wanderlei Silva news reveals "The Axe Murderer's" heated battle with the UFC, as the mixed martial arts veteran now refuses to be inducted in the company's Hall-of-Fame.
Silva's current standoff with the UFC stemmed from his drug-testing related issues with the Nevada State Athletic Commission. After being given a lifetime ban due to his failure to subject himself to the said tests, the PRIDE FC legend has thrown tirades towards the promotion company he now used to work for, and the Commission.
"We have to know who regulates this commission, who controls it, because it's like a circus," Silva said about the Nevada Athletic Commission in a previous interview with Bloody Elbow. "They do what the want and we have nobody to complain to. Nobody knows who controls this organization. They don't respect their own rules. It's complicated."
Wanderlei Silva news reveals "The Axe Murderer's" verbal attacks towards the UFC, which mainly centered on one recurring issue: fighter pay. The 38-year old retired MMA veteran pointed out how former bantamweight champion Renan Barao is being unfairly compensated, despite his status as a title-holder.
"I've seen a picture that he was in a very poor house with his UFC belt beside him," Silva pointed out. "If I was the promotion's owner, I would feel ashamed to pay him little money and charge him so hard."
Silva's strained relationship with the UFC had only worsened during the last few weeks. After president Dana White revealed how much money he has made as a fighter under the company's banner, the brash executive also imposed a ban on "The Axe Murderer" from the UFC Hall-of-Fame.
Wanderlei Silva news features the fighter's response to White's actions in his recent interview with Submission Radio.
"If the guys invite me I won't accept, because my Hall of Fame is my fans," Silva said. "My fans are the Hall of Fame. Not him. He does not decide who goes into the Hall of Fame. The fans decide."
