Rampage Jackson news reveals the former UFC light heavyweight champion's claims that he was lied to by the company about his real salary. The "A-Team" star is also clamoring for a change with regards to an MMA fighter's pay scale.
Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has been around the mixed martial arts game since 1999. While he is currently signed under Bellator FC, he also made waves in Japan when he was fighting for PRIDE FC in the early 2000's, and as a champion in the UFC in 2007.
Rampage Jackson news also reveals that the "A-Team" star has continued to air out his financial issues with the UFC, and the entire business of the sport of mixed martial arts. In an interview with Marcos Villegas of Fight Hub TV, "Rampage" admitted that he would not be able to retire from competing, given the amount he was earning.
"I wouldn't be able to retire for the rest of my life," Jackson disclosed. "Just because of how many kids I've got, and the stuff I plan on doing, I would've kept doing movies and stuff like that."
"Off my MMA money, I don't think I would've retired for the rest of my life," he added. "After taxes and all, stuff that factors in."
Rampage Jackson news also reveals that despite the UFC's press releases on the amount each fighter takes home after every bout, it has always been insufficient.
"After taxes, and after you pay your team, your coaches and your manager their percentage, you don't walk away with the number like they say that they pay you," he continued. "It's just propaganda."
"Rampage", however, did make his own suggestions on how the powers that be could make improvements on this particular aspect of the MMA game.
"I think we should be up there making the same amount of money as basketball players, football players, and the top boxers," he said. "Skateboarders and motocross guys make more money than us.
