We last saw him in a World War II movie playing a soldier in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds. Now the latest Brad Pitt movie revolving around a WWII movie is about to come out, and this time it is grittier and more raw than the Tarantino's dark take on the historical event. So how exactly did Brad Pitt prepare for his role as an army sergeant leading a bunch of guys on WWII tank on a dangerous mission that requires them to cross into enemy territory?
Well, he turned to none other than his son to consult about tanks. According to a recent interview in the Radio Times, the 50 year old actor consulted his eldest son Maddox for information about these vehicles. "Maddox knows so much about tanks that when we first started on the movie, I was asking him for information. He has an extensive knowledge developed on his own since he was young," Pitt shares. It turns out, no one taught Maddox about these war machines, he was just naturally curious about them -- which was perfect because this Brad Pitt movie just happened to use a real Sherman tank from World War II.
And it wasn't just Maddox who was fascinated with tanks. The actor's 6 year old son Knox was also keenly interested in them. According to Brad, Knox "loved the tank, and though he has no concept of war or what the tank's history is, he was so drawn to it. There is that inexplicable fascination that man has with machine."
The tanks were not the only ones getting all the attention. In this Brad Pitt movie, his male co-stars were all trying to buddy up to the movie star. Shia LaBeouf shared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! how he and the other cast were just trying to get Brad to notice them!"We were all vying for his attention," Shia said. "And we all wanted him to like us - it's like having five dudes on a date with one girl. Everyone's really trying to get close, all the time." Aside from fawning over Pitt, they were also engaged in fist fights, which was what the director ordered them to do!
