The Sexiest Woman Alive 2014 title goes to Penelope Cruz. This amazingly beautiful Spanish enchantress was selected by Esquire Magazine, which is an internationally popular men's lifestyle publication. Cruz will be featured on the magazine's cover for its November 2014 issue.

"I've played a lot of tricks on myself. I've made it hard for me sometimes, especially in my teens and twenties. I had an attraction to drama," Cruz told Esquire. "Most of us have that, especially if you are an artist. You feel like you are tempted to explore the darkness."

Penelope Cruz entered the entertainment industry and pop culture as the beautiful Sofia Serrano in "Vanilla Sky" with Tom Cruise, who happened to her boyfriend in real life at the time the movie was made.

However, the major breakthrough of her acting career was in 2009 when she won a Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in "Vicky Christina Barcelona," becoming the first Spanish actress to achieve such feat.

She also appeared in an internationally popular movie with Johnny Depp, "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" back in 2011.

Penelope Cruz tied the knot with handsome actor Javier Bardem back in 2010, whom she starred with in "Vicky Christina Barcelona." They have two children together.

Cruz joins Esquire's list of "Sexiest Women Alive," which the magazine only came up with in 2004, kicking it off with Angelina Jolie.

Penelope Cruz was last seen on the big screen in a 2013 thriller by Ridley Scott, "The Counselor," alongside her husband, the 45-year-old Bardem.

Now, though, apart from being called the "Sexiest Woman Alive" for 2014, she is also preoccupied with an upcoming Spanish drama, "Ma Ma" and is also presently working with Sacha Baron Cohen in a comedy entitled, "Grimsby."
