Chael Sonnen news reveals "The American Gangster's" admission of not regretting his use of Performance Enhancing Drugs (PED) during his career as a mixed martial arts competitor. The former UFC fighter also claims that PEDs should be considered as medicine.

The 37-year old Oregon native failed two pre-mandatory drug tests in 2014 alone. In his second drug test in June, he was found to have Human Growth Hormones (HGH) and Erythropoietin (EPO) in his system, which ultimately led to his decision to retire from MMA competition.

Chael Sonnen news also reveals that in July, the Nevada State Athletic Commission gave the former UFC title contender a two-year suspension, due to the failed tests.

In the debut episode of his podcast entitled "You're Welcome," Sonnen admitted that he did not regret his use of Performance Enhancing Drugs, despite the fact that it was deemed illegal by both the UFC, and the Nevada Athletic Commission.

"People were saying, 'why won't he say he's sorry?' I'm not," Sonnen said. "I'm not going to apologize because I'm not sorry. I'm a consenting adult. I knew exactly what I was doing. This was a premeditated decision."

Sonnen also argued that while it may be made illegal by the governing bodies of mixed martial arts, it did not apply with the bylaws of the American government.

"I'm not talking about the commissions and their rules, I'm talking about the law," he continued. "I'm talking about, am I holding something in my possession and then a police officer sees me, am I allowed to have that. If the answer's yes, then I'm in. That was my test."

Furthermore, "The American Gangster" noted that despite the negative connotation surrounding the term "Performance Enhancing Drug", it was still a form of medicine that could benefit its users.

"There's a term out there, performance enhancing drug," Sonnen stated. "The reality is, it's all medicine. All medicine is made to make you better."
