Georges St-Pierre news reveals "GSP" held a lunch meeting with UFC executives in his hometown of Montreal in Canada. Meanwhile, company president Dana White has decided to keep silent on what transpired during their meet-up.
St-Pierre last saw action in November 2013 at UFC 167, when he was defending his belt against current champion Johny "Bigg Rigg" Hendricks. Despite winning by split decision, the former long-time UFC welterweight champion was badly beaten up, subsequently urging him to indefinitely walk away from mixed martial arts competition.
Georges St-Pierre news also reveals that since then, he has been back to training, but is still uncertain about when he will be returning to action.
"He has no plans right now," the fighter's trainer Firas Zahabi said in his interview with The MMA Hour early this month. "We're supposed to start some martial arts training by the end of this month, and we're going to take it from there, step-by-step. Everybody wants to know what his decision is going to be. The guy hasn't rolled on the mat yet. I mean, how can he know?"
"I don't think he could really know, and there's no reason for him to rush back with a decision," he continued. "He has no definite plans whatsoever, that's the bottom line. That's not the answer everybody wants to hear, but it's the truth. No matter what anybody tells you, he still has not made up his mind."
However, Georges St-Pierre news also reveals that "GSP" met up with UFC executives, president Dana White and CEO Lorenzo Fertita on Tuesday in the fighter's hometown of Montreal in Canada.
Canadian journalist Steven Chmielash first reported the news through Twitter.
In another report by The Province, Dana White did admit that they were in Canada, but offered no further details regarding their meeting with St-Pierre.
"We love the food in Montreal so we figured we would fly there for some lunch. The weird part was GSP was there too! Crazy! Was good to c him ;-)," White said through text message.
