The ESPN NBA player rankings have already rankled several superstars. After Kobe Bryant called those behind the list as "a bunch of idiots," it's now Kevin Durant's time to respond for placing him at No. 8 despite being the reigning MVP.
In his Twitter account, MVP Kevin Durant gave his opinion on the latest ESPN NBA player rankings as he wrote: "My selfie game has been on point and my Jumper ain't going nowhere, it's here for life. I'm shooting both at the moment."
The ranking placed the Oklahoma Thunder forward at 8th place, just behind new Cavaliers forward Kevin Love, who it said is the only player to "average 25 points and 10 rebounds per game with 100 3-pointers in a season -- and he has done it twice."
In a piece, Royce Webb explained the ESPN NBA player rankings and why MVP Kevin Durant's score is very low.
"When it comes to title chances, MVP races and #NBArank, injuries hurt. That's what KD and his fans are finding out for the first time in his career after his Oct. 16 surgery for a Jones fracture in his right foot. Instead of shooting jumpers, he's shooting selfies," he wrote.
The ESPN NBA player rankings already angered one of the biggest superstars in the league after it listed Kobe Bryant at No. 40, behind Dwayne Wade (#36), Rajon Rondo (#37), Klay Thompson (#38)and Andre Iguodala (#39).
Kobe Bryant then lashed out at his very low ranking as he told USA Today: "I've known for a long time they're a bunch of idiots.... I tend to use things as motivation that tend to be in the realm of reality."
According to ESPN, the reason why the Los Angeles shooting guard scored so low in the rankings was because he played only six games last season. Last year, the ESPN NBA player rankings placed Kobe Bryant at No. 25.
