The Diaz Brothers' MMA presence was recently praised by UFC legend Royce Gracie, as the MMA legend believes that "their fights are what this sports should be."

The Diaz Brothers' MMA careers have began in the early 2000s. Elder brother Nick started fighting in 2001, and has fought in various organizations apart from the UFC. He also won the Strikeforce and WEC welterweight titles, in the process. He will be facing former middleweight champion Anderson "the Spider" Silva on January 31st at UFC 183.

Younger brother Nate, on the other hand, began fighting in 2004. His rise to prominence in the UFC came after winning fifth season of The Ultimate Fighter reality show. He also fought for the UFC lightweight title in 2012, but was unable to come out victorious.

The Diaz Brothers' MMA presence has always been connected to notoriety, as both are known for talking trash outside the Octagon. It has garnered both praises and criticisms from fans and fighters alike. Most recently, UFC 1 legend and "MMA's Godfather" Royce Gracie gave his opinion on Nick and Nate. His reactions were met by surprise from many spectators.

"I like their attitude," Gracie said in a report by MMA Fighting. "If they stand you up, they can exchange fists with you. If you go to the ground they are super dangerous."

Royce Gracie's claim to fame was his introduction of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) to the world. His use of the said style in beating opponents and eventually leading to him winning the inaugural UFC title in 1993 brought the martial art to mainstream attention.

Gracie, praised the Diaz brothers, who are both BJJ black belts, mainly due to their ability to finish fights.

"They respect jiu-jitsu. They know how to fight from the bottom," Gracie said. "They know how to fight from the top. They are finishers. They go for the finish, they don't go to score points. Their fights are what this sport should be."
