"Half Life 3" release date remains to be a mystery.

With limited information and vague responses from Valve, fans are left to wonder if the highly anticipated new game will ever be launched.

Valve Founder Gabe Newell has given countless interviews about the new game's development, but all of them remain uncertain about the latest installment's fate.

In one of his interviews, Newell expressed that the growing clamour for the new game and the fans' expectations will not be put to waste.

But why hasn't the game materialized if they really value their fans? Air Herald gave this speculation:

"Half Life 3 is a big, risky project. It would surely sell a lot of copies when it is released. But, in the long run it might not be the best move for Valve. In public, Gabe Newell has been light on the details when asked about the game. There is a possibility that Valve is waiting for new technology to come out. All of their Half Life games have showcased some new technology at the time they were released."

"Half Life 3" release date rumors even surfaced before and during the E3 2014 that Valve will finally announce the official launch date of the latest instalment. But that didn't happen, leaving fans disheartened once again.

Rumored discovered artworks for the new game didn't help either. It has been previously reported that former Valve employee Minh Lee saw some studies for "Half Life 3." However, the rumor was quickly gunned down by the gaming community since Lee has left Valve several years ago and might have spotted an old and unused "Half Life" artwork.

It it's any consolation, another "Half Life 3" release date report claims that "Conuter Strike" co-creators have already confirmed that the third instalment is underway.
