Here is a short description of the romance flick as published on Google:
"The story of Dawson and Amanda, two former high school sweethearts who find themselves reunited after 20 years apart, when they return to their small town for the funeral of the beloved friend. Their bittersweet reunion reignites the love they've never forgotten, but soon they discover the forces that drove them apart twenty years ago live on, posing even more serious threats today. Spanning decades, this epic love story captures the enduring power of our first true love, and the wrenching choices we face when confronted with elusive second chances."
The movie stars James Marsden (Dawson Cole), Luke Bracey (young Dawson), Michelle Monaghan (Amanda Collier), Liana Liberato (young Amanda), Gerald McRaney (Tuck), Sean Bridgers (Tommy Cole), Ian Nelson (Jared), Sebastian Arcelus (Frank Reynolds), Jon Tenney (Harvey Collier), Caroline Goodall (Evelyn), Schuyler Fisk (Older April), Caroline Hebert (Young April) and Robby Rasmussen (Bobby / Aaron).
According to International Business Times, "The Best of Me" full movie "is bittersweet."
"It is tinged with melancholy, regret, hope and second chances. The ending of the story is sad, but not depressing because it gave viewers an explanation and some closure to the love story of Amanda and Dawson," the article read.
Bill Zwecker of Chicago Sun-Times on the other hand gave this review:
"The Best of Me was a better film than I expected. Much of that is due to the performances delivered by Marsden, Monaghan, Liana Liberato and especially young Australian actor Luke Bracey as the younger version of Marsden's character."
