Taylor Swift's new album has been on repeat in a lot of fans' playlists lately, but two singers managed to squeeze the whole thing into just four minutes!
Mitch Grassi and Scott Hoying from Pentatonix proved that they are huge Taylor Swift fans by making a preview-like mix of '1989.' They were also adorably wearing fan shirts.
Grassi and Hoying sang a medley of 'Welcome To New York,' 'Out Of The Woods,' 'Clean,' 'Bad Blood,' 'Shake It Off' and the other songs from '1989.' The pair posted the amazing video on their Youtube page, Superfruit.
They also did a similar treatment to Beyonce and Miley Cyrus' previous albums in the past. The whole group are also famous for making the 'Evolution of Music' and 'Evolution of Beyonce' videos, among others.
Mitch Grassi and Scott Hoying, along with the rest of Pentatonix, Kirstie Maldonado, Kevin Olusola and Avi Kaplan, just released their new Holiday album, 'That's Christmas to Me.'
The group rose to fame after winning NBC's 'The Sing-Off' in 2010. They will also be appearing in the highly anticipated musical movie sequel, 'Pitch Perfect 2,' as the Barden Bella's new competition.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift's new album, '1989,' sold 1.287 million copies on the first week of its release. According to the Washington Post, most of the copies sold were physical albums as opposed to the more accessible digital version on online stores. It's the first record that reached platinum this year.
Eminem was the last artist to manage this feat when his album 'The Eminem Show' sold over a million copies in 2002. The biggest album sales in a week for a woman, however, belonged to Britney Spears. The popstar's 2000 album, 'Opps... I Did It Again,' sold 1.319 million copies on its first week of release.
Swift also removed all her songs from music streaming application, Spotify.
"We hope she'll change her mind and join us in building a new music economy that works for everyone," the company responded to Swift's decision to take all of her music out from Spotify.
The statement continued, "We believe fans should be able to listen to music wherever and whenever they want, and that artists have an absolute right to be paid for their work and protected from piracy. That's why we pay nearly 70 percent of our revenue back to the music community."
What do you think of Taylor Swift's new album, '1989?' What do you think of Mitch Grassi and Scott Hoying's treatment of it?
