Lindsay Lohan news revealed that the "Mean Girls" lead actress originally wanted to play a different role in the hit teen film. According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, cast secrets were revealed during the movie's 10th anniversary reunion.
Lindsay Lohan admitted that she wanted to take on the role of queen bee Regina George. "I was still 17 years old and I wanted to be the cool girl on set," the former child star said.
The now 28-years-old "Speed The Plow" actress eventually ended up playing new girl Cady Heron.
The role of Regina George was then given to Rachel McAdams. "She seemed so deliciously wicked and borderline evil," the 35-year-old actress said.
"I was quite a bit older at the time - I was, like, 24 or 25," Rachel McAdams added, reported by Entertainment Weekly.
Fellow "Plastics" Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert were also featured in the "Mean Girls" anniversary special.
Aside from casting secrets, other controversies addressed during the "Mean Girls" reunion was Lindsay Lohan's then-feud with fellow teen star Hilary Duff.
Tina Fey narrated: "There was one day where she tried to explain to Amy (Poehler) and me her beef with Hilary Duff, but we couldn't crack it... But we were pretending we could follow it."
Earlier Lindsay Lohan news reported that the actress is trying to convince the film producer and Saturday Night Live star to do a "Mean Girls" sequel.
Huffington Post reported that the hit teen flick celebrated its 10th anniversary last April. When its lead star Lindsay Lohan "wasn't available to comment" to news, many thought she was not interested in reviving the movie.
However, Lindsay Lohan news reported by Time Out London said the actress has even pitched the sequel's plot to Tina Fey.
Lindsay Lohan told the news publication: "I was with Tina Fey ['Mean Girls' writer] the other day and I said we should do another 'Mean Girls,' like an older version where they're all housewives and they're all cheating."
"That would be really funny. I'll harass Tina to write it," Lindsay Lohan told the news publication.
She added: "People really love the movie: how do you top that?"
