Polygon further reported that Resident Evil Revelations 2's producer Michiteru Okabe explained the whole thig during a panel at the New York City Comic-Con 2014 last week. The Raid Mode Throwback is a variation of the Raid Mode introduced in the first game, which lets one or two players fight their way through maps from the single player campaign populated with different enemies. Raid Mode Throwback pretty much works the same, only with stages from previous Resident Evil games.
Gamespot added that the game should be available to pre-order on PS4 on October 14, and PS3 pre-orders should be available later this month. The game will release in four episodes. Gamers will be able to buy each for $6, or purchase all of them for $25. The $25 bundle includes the four chapters and some "additional game content," which will be announced soon. Once the four episodes are released, Capcom will launch a disc-based version of the game, featuring the four chapters and additional content for only $40.
Meanwhile. a returning Resident Evil characters joins the game.
According to reports from Game Informer, former S.T.A.R.S. officer and ally Barry Burton is rumored to join the game when a leaked description of the game is hinted in the ESRB rating description.
"This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the roles of an imprisoned woman and a father searching for his daughter on an island. Players use pistols, machine guns, rocket launchers, shotguns, and knives to kill zombies and mutated creatures. Combat is highlighted by screams of pain, realistic gunfire, and large blood-splatter effects. A handful of enemies are depicted with exposed organs, and one scene depicts an enemy having its hand cut off in slow-motion. Another scene depicts a human character shooting herself in the head with a pistol, resulting in a large splatter of blood. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” appear in the dialogue."
Gamers have already know that Barry's daughter Moira will be a playable character in the game along with fan favorite Claire Redfield. The question remains though, what kind of role will Barry play in the game and is he even a playable character?
IGN and VG 24/7 reported that it Barry could be a possible playable character given that he has been used before in Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition and in Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D games. Will just have to wait for Capcom's announcement regarding the new details of the game.
