"The Elder Scrolls Online" release date for Xbox One and PS4 still remains unknown as of writing.
To calm expectant players, Bethesda has reportedly created a save and load option for exisitng players who aim to play the MMORPG on their consoles later on, and they're doing their best to improve the gamers' PC experience by releasing updates and patches.
The subscription-based MMO has been receiving a lot of flak from the gaming community, and the unconfirmed "The Elder Scrolls Online" release date for Xbox One and PS4 updates seem to fan the flame even more.
However, a new report surfaced claiming that the MMORPG has turned in some impressive subscriber numbers.
Game Rant reported, "According to SuperData, an analysis firm that releases an annual report on the state of the MMO market, The Elder Scrolls has been very successful for ZeniMax Online Studios and Bethesda. As of this writing, their subscriber numbers chart somewhere around 772,374, which is very good for an MMO that was thought to be D.O.A. But it appears the game is doing just fine, and has even expanded its reach to Steam within the last week."
"On top of strong subscriber numbers, The Elder Scrolls Online‘s average revenue per user is actually ascending — a surprising stat given the state of subscription-based MMOs. In fact, revenue for subscription-based MMOs with microtransactions has been on the rise as a whole, up from 14% to 27% over the last five years."
Could this new development actually hinder the release of the game on consoles so ZeniMax and Bethesda can concentrate on subscription? Or could it inspire them to finally push through with the alleged 2015 release?
