Roger Federer trashed Andy Murray 6-0, 6-1 in the ATP Finals round-robin. Federer remains undefeated in their bracket while Murray is left on his worst defeat after seven years.

Federer is the most successful player at the year-end championship having six titles in which he is equaled by Ivan Lendl's record having 12 semifinal appearances in winning his group ahead of Japanese debutant Kei Nishikori.

Federer commented "' Clearly I'm very happy to play a good match today. I knew I was qualified, so maybe I went in a bit more relaxed. It's not the way I thought it was going to go, but there's always next year for Andy."

Murray was humiliated in his match with Federer while Federer came out with great record.

Murray lamented "It was a tough night. I've lost slam finals and stuff, which has been very tough. But in terms of the way the match went, it was not ideal from my side of the court, far from it."

He adds "I've lost slam finals, which have been very tough. But in terms of the way the match went it was not ideal from my side of the court -- far from it. I can say I'm disappointed with my level. But if I played well he probably still would have won anyway."

Murray tried very hard to qualify of the ATP finals. He fought hard this autumn to qualify for the season finale but continued to struggle while doing so.

Murray said "If I played well, he probably still would have won anyway. He was striking the ball very, very clean. After the first few games of the match, he played exceptionally well. Made very few mistakes. Was hitting the ball off the middle of the racket on serve, returns. He maybe didn't hit his first serve as well as he can, but apart from that, everything else was very clean."

Federer is a Swiss professional tennis player who is currently ranked world No. 2 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). He has been ranked inside the top 10 continuously since October 2002 and the top 20 since April 2001. Numerous commentators, pundits, and former and current players of the sport regard Federer as the greatest tennis player of all time.
