Earlier this month, Jennifer Lawrence's "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" song was unveiled and the Oscar Award winner admitted that she cried while recording "The Hanging Tree."

"I do not like singing in front of other people. It's like my biggest fear," she told David Letterman during an interview.

She revealed that she cried the whole day that they were shooting her singing scene.

Director Francis Lawrence, according to Vanity Fair, even had a vocal coach on set that day just to help the "American Hustle" star along.

"Jen didn't really want to do too much of the training . . ." he revealed. "I was worried, I really thought we were going to have to do a bunch of pitch shifting, but she sounded great."

The idea for the tune, which James Newton arranged together with The Lumineers, came from the book by Suzanne Collins.

"[Collins] wrote the lyrics and the idea was that it was an old Appalachian folk song that her father had taught her," the film's helmer reportedly told AOL Build according to ET News.

He reportedly called The Lumineers up right away for help "and the next day they sent me a recording of somebody whistling the tune and also a woman singing it. And it was perfect."

Despite her own claim that she sounded like "a tone deaf Amy Winehouse" and "a deer that has been caught in a fence," Jennifer Lawrence's "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" song sounded, as director Francis Lawrence said, "great."

The soundtrack album, which includes "The Hanging Tree," was released on November 24. "Royals" hitmaker, Lorde was the curator for the whole record which includes songs from Kanye West, Miguel, Ariana Grande, Major Lazer, Charli XCX and more.
